There is something truly special about having a garden design that is unique to you. One of our favourite aspects of the job at FMN Gardens is designing a space that works for your requirements, whether you need a child-friendly area or a beautiful entertainment space for those late summer nights.
How Does Garden Design Work?
Our process for garden design is the same for any job, no matter how big or small.
When you contact us, we will arrange a suitable date for a site visit, at which time we will have a discussion about your ideas and vision for the space, budget, any special requirements (child-friendly / pet-friendly / studio for work / sunken trampoline / etc.). We can also give some suggestions that follow your idea for the space, or if you don’t have a set vision then offer you some suggestions that will look great.
We will then photograph and measure the location and perform a site survey, making note of any objects (like trees, etc.) that need to be taken into account or removed and look into anything that could disrupt the design or construction. Following this, we can provide a quote, and on your approval, begin the actual garden design work.
We love designing gardens, and our founders, Roman and Harry, both have BA Honours in Garden Design. We always try, where possible, to send our design through within a week for your approval. When you are happy with the plan, we can set a date to begin construction and installation and get started with transforming your garden!
Things To Consider With Your Garden Design
- What’s your style – minimalist, traditional, contemporary, etc?
- What do you use your garden for most – entertaining, relaxing, etc.?
- Do you have any special requirements? (e.g. pets that have free roam of the garden / child-friendly area / special access needs / etc)
- What’s your budget?
“We hired FMN to revamp our garden. The job spec included installing new turf, installing new paving (sandstone), new steps into the garden and putting slabs as stepping stones to the back of the garden… I would not hesitate for a moment to recommend them to anybody.”
